Biopods rescued my feet! As someone with a connective tissue disorder (EDS,) a very high arch and plantar fasciitis, I did a lot of research into the best type of footwear to help with the intense pain I have when standing and walking for longer distances.
Normal walking shoes with a lot of cushioning and padding in the heel and high arch support were literally destroying my joints from my feet all the way up to my hips and lower back. No matter what brand I tried, I always had pain and joint degeneration.
BioPods have allowed my feet to strike the ground properly and it was something I noticed immediately. My foot was easily able to roll forward from
heel to toe which changed my gait dramatically. I’ve always felt unstable with normal walking shoes but the zero drop sole has been a game changer for stability.
Only nitpicks I have are:
1.) The soles are extremely slippery on smooth flooring, to the point where I almost did a nose dive when stepping off a rug onto a polished marble floor. It would be great if they could be made with a non-slip sole for people like me with disabilities who require extra grip.
2.) It took a couple of tries to get the correct sizing. I initially did the full customization, but had some trouble getting a proper fit. The staff worked really diligently though to make sure I ended up with a pair of shoes that fit like a glove, so that was very appreciated.
My husband is a teacher who is on his feet all day, so after I got my shoes and loved them he also purchased a pair and they have dramatically reduced his pain as well. We highly recommend them!
